Called me claiming to be the "lady officer" at the IRS- When I asked what the penalty amount, which year tax returns, my ID and phone number for my lawyer to reach them, they hang up- Real IRS never calls tax payers directly- Hope all people use these questions to them
I received a call from this number yesterday- Didnt answer- Glad I looked it up
Called and no talking
keeps calling and hangs up no message
Calls every day- I don't pick up, they never leave a message- I figured if it was important and not a scam they would leave a message
Collection agency calling for the wrong person, repeatedly- Super annoying since this is my cell phone and I've never heard of the person they are calling for

Folks, I got that call, too, but I didn't answer- They're scammers- The IRS will never call you, nor will valid credit card companies, and the card companies, if it's real, can always snailmail you, which is better anyway because then they are leaving s paper trail- And if it is a collection agency, they will snailmail you, too- Don't engage these phished and spoofed numbers, don't pick up, and don't expect the FTC to help you because their main job is self-perpetuation- Don't expect these animals to think like you: they're predators- This is what you should be doing: Turn on your audible call screening, and also peek at your caller ID- Only pick up if it's someone you know- I guarantee that you will start to feel back in control again, and these unwanted calls will start to diminish, although they will never disappear completely- Don't try to mess with their heads because if you toy with them, they will disseminate your information to other scammers and hackers- If a real person is calling you, they will usually start to leave a message and you can pick up or call back and explain- Most people will understand why you waited to answer- I learned this stuff the hard way, and hope this saves you unneeded suffering with my advice- You can always report the numbers to Do Not Call, but I gotta tell you that after wasting half a year reporting numbers every day and realizing how much time I wasted doing that, and the fact that the Do Not Call people are useless, I decided to stop wasting time and just screen my calls :)
